Athletes Of The Week

Mary Fletcher

Middletown - Sophomore
Softball

Mary hit .750 last week for the Lady Middies. She started the week off going 1-2 in the loss to Oak Hills, then followed it with going 3-3 with a RBI in the win vs Trotwood. On Friday, Mary finished 2-3 with 3 RBIs in a big win over Princeton. Mary is very versatile on defense as she plays several different positions for Middletown.


John Calhoun

Middletown - Junior
Baseball

JC hit .412 on the week for the Middies. He had 7 hits on the week that included two doubles, a triple and a 2 RBI Home Run. JC finished the week with 4 RBIs total. In the 9-3 win on Saturday at Miami University vs Fenwick, he went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI.


Zach Plotkin

Lakota West - Senior
Track

Zach placed 4th at the Wayne Invitational with a time of 1:57 in the 800m.


KK Mathis

Lakota West - Junior
Softball

KK hit a Grand Slam in the fifth to seal the win for the Firebirds. KK hit her 11th home run becoming the new single season home run leader in program history.


Luke Hoover

Princeton - Senior
Tennis

Luke went 2-0 and won third singles in the GCTCA tournament.


Sneham Patel

Tennis

Sneham went 2-0 and won the second singles in the GCTCA tournament.


Lucy Kilinton

Softball

Lucy won her first varsity game vs Oyler and had several RBI's over the weekend.


Amanda Tulloss

Softball

Amanda got her third win of the season and hit a homerun in the Lady Vikings victory over St. Ursula.


Jilian Yates

Oak Hills - Junior
Track

Jillian, a multi-sport student-athlete, has experienced some ups and downs this season but hasn't let the competitive edge suffer because of it. She threw a huge personal best in the shot put on Friday at the Ross Invitational to win the event. Her dedication and cerebral approach to the throwing events leaves no doubt that she has the ability to finish the season as the top thrower in the GMC and that her best tosses are yet to come.


Jeremy Conners

Oak Hills - Junior
Track

Jeremy, a multi-sport student-athlete, is competing in his first season as a thrower. He got off to a quiet start, but his last few weeks have been very exciting to follow. He is quickly establishing himself as a dependable and fierce competitor. At the Ross Invitational this past Friday, he placed 4th in discus and 5th in shot put. Both performances were sizable personal bests.


Maeve Fink

Oak Hills - Sophomore
Softball

Maeve plays 1b for the Highlanders. She is a selfless catcher who focused on another position to help fill a team need. She has worked to become an outstanding corner. Maeve was hot this past week going 11-19 (.579). She had 11 RBI, a home run, 1Double and 2 walks. Maeve also swiped a handful of bases during the Highlander’s 5-1 week. Maeve is not only a standout vocal leader on the field, but also a leader in the classroom. Maeve was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.


Nate Aug

Oak Hills - Senior
Baseball

Nate, a multi-sport student-athlete, was 5 for 7 on the week with 2 doubles, a Home run , 6 runs scored, and 5 RBI’s. He tacked on 3 walks and an HBP as well.


Michael McClurg

Oak Hills - Junior
Tennis

Junior captain, Michael McClurg, is currently 6-3 on the season playing either 1st or 2nd doubles. Michael has played with multiple doubles partners on the season, and always does a great job of leading his teammate. Outside of tennis Michael spends time working at the Kids Club at his church and is also a member of NHS.


Ben Black

Oak Hills - Senior
Lacrosse

Ben was able to help the Highlanders beat Archbishop McNicholas. Ben fought hard on ground balls and also scored two goals while also assisting on another during the win.


Seth Truter

Sycamore - Freshman
Lacrosse

Starting attack this season, Seth has 12 goals and 5 assists on the year! He had a hat trick vs. Fairfield last week!


Ethan Mason

Colerain - Junior
Baseball

This week Ethan threw a complete game 3 hit shutout against Princeton. At the plate, he hit .571 and had an on base percentage of .750. All season Ethan has been solid offensively, defensively, and on the mound and he has been a tremendous leader for the team.


Jacob Zielinski

Colerain - Senior
Tennis

Jacob won the 1st singles title in our flight of the varsity coaches classic. He beat players from LaSalle, Badin, and Lebanon in 3 different 8 game pro-sets. Jacob has had some really competitive matches with some of the best players in the area and always strives for success.


Leah Arnett

Lakota East - Freshman
Softball

Leah utility player (catcher, outfielder, 1B) and is off to a great softball career for the Hawks. She has been a big asset offensively and defensively this season for the young Thunderhawks. Leah is 7 for 13 with 2 doubles and 4 stolen bases in the past 4 games. She has a batting average of 0.326 also.


Michael Sprockett

Lakota East - Senior
Baseball

Michael is having a strong season for the East Thunderhawks. He has displayed strong skills behind the plate and is helping our pitching staff get the job done. At the plate, Michael is averaging 0.362. He has signed a letter of intent to play baseball next year at Akron.


Riley Johansen

Mason - Senior
Softball

Riley Johansen is a 1st-year varsity player. She has done a great job as our DP this season hitting .309 while driving in 16 runs. Riley can be counted on to do all the little things that make a team successful. In addition to playing softball, she is the Editor of the high school newspaper. Riley is a natural leader. She will be going to Ohio State in the fall. Congratulations and best wishes Riley!


Jake Hanley

Mason - Freshman
Baseball

Jake is an outfielder and pitcher for the Comets and so far is having an "impact" season as a freshman. In 19 games played he has a batting average of 0.365 and is 2nd on the team in base hits (19). His totals include 2 doubles and 10 RBI. Jake has an on-base percentage of 0.507 and a fielding percentage of 0.986 (1 error in 19 games played).


Cara Stacy

Fairfield - Junior
Softball

Cara has come on this season working her way to the top of the order batting .615 for the week...3 for 3 - with 2 doubles & 3 RBI's vs Mason, 3 for 4 with RBI vs Harrison, a double vs Middletown, HR - (1st of the season) & 3 RBI's vs Sycamore. Over the week she had 4 extra-base hits and 7 RBI's. Now that is quite a week!”


Trevor Almanza

Goalie Trevor Alamanza had 15 saves and the game winning save with 8 seconds left against Oak Hills to win Fairfield Lacrosse's first GMC victory ever.
