Athletes Of The Week

Norman Ray

Sophomore, Colerain Academic

Chess- Norman was our second board chess player for the entire season, and never missed a single match. He was awarded GMC Second Team for his accomplishments during the 2025-2026 season. Academic Quiz Team- Norman is the backbone of the Academic Quiz Team! Not only is he a top performer in matches, but he is also a great teammate. Norman encourages all of his teammates to do their best. He pushes them to answer questions, cheers for them when they answer correctly, continues to cheer even when they are incorrect, and advocates for their strengths to the coach. He is always one of the first to offer help to both the coach and his teammates, and the AQT would not be as successful as it is without him!


Mallory Schrott

Freshman, Colerain Swimming

At this week’s meet, Mallory placed top three in every event she swam. She got first overall in the girls' 50 freestyle, third overall in the girls' 200 freestyle (her very first time swimming that event), and was on the girls' 200 free relay team, which also won first place! Mallory is the leading individual scorer on the girls' team, and we are so lucky to have her!


Lukas Bales

Senior, Fairfield Swimming

“This past Saturday at the Princeton Invitational, Lukas was our team high point winner by finishing 7th in the 200 freestyle and 9th in the 500 freestyle. He also helped lead our boys 400 free relay to a 7th place finish and our 200 medley relay to a 9th place finish. Lukas continues to be a leader for our team and continues to work hard towards his goals.” Coach Craig Reed


Julia Reed

Junior, Fairfield Swimming

This past weekend the swim team competed at the Princeton Invitational. With over 360 swimmers, Julia had one of her best meets yet. She finished 6th in the 100 butterfly, earning a new season best time and getting closer to her preseason goal, and she finished 16th in the 50 freestyle. She also helped lead our girls 200 free relay to a 7th place finish and our 400 free relay to a 9th place finish. Her hard work and dedication have been great for our team as we head into the championship part of our season.” Coach Craig Reed


Dana Fairbanks

Senior, Mason Swimming

DANA IS A SENIOR ON THE MASON GIRLS SWIM TEAM. HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS A FOUR-YEAR VARSITY SWIMMER AND STATE QUALIFIER EACH YEAR ARE REMARKABLE, SHOWCASING HER SKILL AND DEDICATION TO SWIMMING. AS A SENIOR LEADER, HER APPROACH THROUGH CONSISTENCY, HARD WORK, AND LEADING BY EXAMPLE SETS A HIGH STANDARD FOR HER TEAM. HER RELENTLESS WORK ETHIC NOT ONLY DRIVES HER SUCCESS BUT ALSO INSPIRES HER TEAMMATES, EARNING HER WELL-DESERVED RESPECT FROM BOTH PEERS AND COACHES. DANA'S LEADERSHIP AND COMMITMENT UNDOUBTEDLY CONTRIBUTE TO A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE WITHIN HER TEAM.


Ethan Tu

Senior, Mason Swimming

ETHAN IS A SENIOR ON THE MASON BOYS SWIMMING TEAM. HIS DEDICATION AND INFLUENCE AS A VARSITY SWIMMER ARE TRULY COMMENDABLE. BEING A STATE QUALIFIER EACH YEAR HIGHLIGHTS HIS CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE AND COMMITMENT TO THE SPORT. HIS ABILITY TO ELEVATE HIS TEAMMATES THROUGH HIS EFFORT, ATTITUDE, AND ACCOUNTABILITY SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT HIS LEADERSHIP QUALITIES AND POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE TEAM. IT'S NO SURPRISE THAT HE IS WELL-LIKED BY BOTH TEAMMATES AND COACHES, AS HIS PRESENCE SEEMS TO FOSTER A SUPPORTIVE AND MOTIVATED ENVIRONMENT.


Maddie Broxterman

Senior, Oak Hills Bowling

It was a good week on the lanes for Senior Maddie Broxterman. Between a tournament and 2 matches, Maddie averaged 144.4 pins per game, which was 13 pins above her current average. At the Back to School Bash, Maddie finished 41st individually out of more than 125 participating bowlers, rolling on a very difficult oil pattern. Then, on Thursday at Stones vs. St. Ursula Academy, Maddie rolled her current high 2-game series of 330 pins, including a season high game of 187.


Weston Fillnow

Freshman, Oak Hills Basketball

Weston is a multi-sport athlete who excels as an athlete, a student and a person. He attends most every morning shooting opportunity, works extremely hard to improve himself as an athlete (Basketball and Baseball), and serves as a leader/great teammate on and off the court. He attends our Oak Hills Chapter of FCA and First Priority meetings- Christian Groups. He is also a member of S.A.L.T. (Student Athlete leaders), and he currently has earned a 4.563 GPA.


Max Hoeting

Sophomore, Oak Hills Bowling

Max has worked hard over the summer and his hard work has paid off as he has been bumped up to varsity this season. Along his hard work max is a great teammate that brings positivity and energy to the team.


Ava Kammerer

Senior, Oak Hills Basketball

Ava, a senior captain, scored 40 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had 5 assists in 2 games this past week. Ava recently scored her 1000th career point and currently ranks 2nd in the GMC in scoring and is in the top 10 in rebounds.


Audrey Schnorbus

Junior, Oak Hills Academic

Audrey is off to a great start this season! She is a great teammate and one of the top students in the class of 2027! Audrey challenges herself everyday by taking multiple AP and CCP courses!


Jett Sloan

Junior, Oak Hills Swimming

Jett led the highlander men to an overall 5th place finish out of 14 teams at the Princeton Invitational. Jett dominated the 200 freestyle field with a time of 1:46.00, securing his gold medal with an almost 3 second lead on the entire field. He then went on to get second place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.19. Jett has been consistently posting times that are impressive on all standards, and is currently ranked top 200 in the nation among all 200 freestyles this high school season. His current times would put him in the top 8 at last year’s OHSAA state championship in most events of his choosing. Jett is set to close out an amazing junior season, already being less than 1.5 seconds away from breaking three different school records.
