Justin Winkle

Lakota West - Senior
Soccer

Justin scored the opening goal and assisted on the winning goal in Lakota West’s 3-2 win at Mason on Thursday. Between these goals he also scored a penalty kick goal which accounted for the margin of victory in the win which moved the Firebirds into a tie for first place in the GMC standings.


Vanessa Menchofer

Lakota West - Junior
Soccer

Vanessa sparked the Firebirds to a come from behind (2-1) win over Ursuline Academy at Firebird Stadium on Monday. Menchofer tied the contest, 1-1, by scoring an unassisted goal. She was then credited with an assist on the winning goal with just one minute remaining in the game.


Kelvin Effah

Hamilton - Junior
Soccer

Kelvin Effah has been a big bright spot for the Big Blue Boys Soccer team. He has skill and speed that many teams have had a hard time controlling throughout the season. This has allowed him to find his name at the top of the charts in the GMC. He had a hat trick against our non-league opponent Kings, and has found the back of the net twice, both coming in our tie game against Lakota West. He also has helped with creating goals through his one assist and many fouls he has been awarded in dangerous positions, thus giving us chances to attack the net. His work has made him a big threat on the field and created nightmares for defenses we face.


Caroline Eichhorn

Oak Hills - Junior
Tennis

Caroline and her partner, Mackenzie, fell in a tough 1st Doubles match in a third set tiebreaker to St. Ursula. They rebounded to beat Mercy-MacAuley. Caroline is now 7-4 at doubles as she is developing into a team leader. Caroline is also on the Oak Hills Swim Team as well as a member of NHS.


Owen King

Oak Hills - Junior
Cross Country

Even though Owen's season start wasn't what he'd hoped, in the last 2 races Owen has been our second runner, showing his character and work ethic. Owen's season-best time of 17:39.0 helped the Highlanders to a 3rd place finish at Milford.


Hunter Keller

Oak Hills - Senior
Volleyball

Senior Middle Blocker Hunter Keller led the Highlanders to three wins this week over Anderson, Colerain and Walnut Hills. Hunter had 32 kills for the week averaging 3.55kpg with a hitting efficiency of .482. Hunter also added 15 aces (1.67 apg) and 7 blocks (.777 bpg). Hunter played back row only when she served and added 13 digs for the week. Hunter also carries a 4.0 GPA.


Rees Hayes

Oak Hills - Junior
Golf

Rees is a multi-sport athlete playing Baseball for the Highlanders. He has a 4.0 GPA, 2 AP Classes and is an NHS member.


Sarah Reddington

Oak Hills - Senior
Soccer

Sarah a 3-year varsity player has been the anchor of our back line. She helped the team record a shutout this past week against Princeton. Her leadership and exceptional soccer skills have been a key to the team's success. Sarah is also an outstanding student.


Hunter Stoy

Oak Hills - Senior
Football

Hunter recorded 8 solo tackles including a sack. Even though he is slightly undersized as a linebacker, he heart is not undersized as he recorded his personal game best for the season to help the Highlanders raise their record to 3-1.


Deante Smith

Colerain - Senior
Football

- Passed for 314 yards and 5 TD's, leading the Cardinals in a 44-3 win over Middletown, one week after collecting 6 TD's in a win over Princeton.


Julie Turner

Colerain - Senior
Track

Helped the Cardinals with a fast start to the season, collecting 5 wins in the first 10 matches. Julie leads the team in Assists and is currently ranked #5 in the GMC in Assists with 146


Armeen Kazemi

Sycamore - Senior
Soccer

Armeen scored two goals and registered one assist in a 4-0 win vs Middletown on Thursday,September 13th.


Jessica Borland

Fairfield - Senior
Volleyball

Jess has been key to this year’s team and has led us to an 11-4 start (4-1 in the GMC). She leads all players in the league with a staggering 441 assists. Her leadership and energy are essential to our team.”P


Sawiaha Ellis

Fairfield - Junior
Football

Sawiaha has done a tremendous job stepping up the past 2 weeks. He moved from wide receiver to quarterback and helped lead our offense to a 37 – 3 victory over Lakota West this past week. Sawiaha was 11 for 16 passing for 212 yards, including a school record 93 yard touchdown pass to Peyton Brown. He also carried the ball 8 times for 31 yards. His leadership and management of the game helped our offense amass 454 total yards.”


Mackenzie Bierman

Lakota East - Junior
Soccer

Mackenzie is a back line defender who has played virtually every minute of every game since her Freshman year. It is rare that she comes out and over the past 2.5 years she has left the game maybe 5 times late in the game due to defensive alignment. She has been a defensive main stay and a solid contributor to the soccer program.


Haleigh Collins

Lakota East - Senior
Cheerleading

This is Haleigh first year on the varsity sqad. She is a solid leader and example for her teammates. Haleigh is always willing to help out with JV and Freshman cheerleaders. She enjoys working with the other seniors to create pep rally routine and letting her love of cheerleading shine through!!!


Logan Dalton

Mason - Senior
Football

Logan has been an extremely important part of the Comets success on the gridiron this fall. His 53-yard TD run last Friday against Sycamore helped the Comets tie the game and go onto a overtime victory in the Battle of the Sky. Logan rushed for 146 yards in that contest and has been a consistent contributor every game this season.


Madison Schauer

Mason - Senior
Cheerleading

Madison is one of the captains for the Comet girls cheer team this season. She works hard at every practice and is a good example to her teammates. Madison shows up at every practice and game with a positive attitude.
